Join us on the evening of Thursday 10 October for a series of in-person careers and commercial awareness workshops with Eversheds Sutherland, Gateley, Mills & Reeve, Trowers & Hamlins and The University of Law.
The event, which is free and open to all students, takes place from 4pm to 7:15pm at The University of Law’s newly refurbished Birmingham campus in the city’s trendy Jewellery Quarter, a short walk from the city centre.
Students will attend five workshops, each 30-minutes long, delivered by lawyers at the participating firms as well as a careers expert from ULaw. Midway through the event there is 35 minutes of networking with the firms’ trainees and graduate recruitment teams over drinks and snacks.
The workshop themes:
• Navigating the Legal Landscape: Insights from a Solicitor in a PLC (delivered by Rachael Jeffries, solicitor in the pensions team at Gateley)
• Sports law and litigation (delivered by Harry Bambury, associate in the commercial disputes and sports team at Mills & Reeve
• Applications masterclass (delivered by Kerry Smith, careers consultant at ULaw)
• Life as a real estate lawyer (delivered by Trowers & Hamlins)
• Cryptocurrency fraud and how the English courts are responding to it (delivered by Gary Orritt, senior associate in the litigation and dispute management team and Charles White, associate in the financial services disputes and investigations group at Eversheds Sutherland)
