The Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) remains a formidable challenge for aspiring solicitors, with pass rates across both parts of the assessment varying significantly.

The latest figures show that in the July 2025 SQE1 sitting, the pass rate fell to a record low of 41%, compared with previous rates that hovered around 50%. In contrast, the most recent SQE2 sitting achieved a record high pass rate of 82%.

Join us on the afternoon of Wednesday 26 November for our latest virtual student event, held in partnership with BPP University Law School, where we’ll explore what the pass rates mean for anyone considering the SQE route.

Led by BPP’s head of outreach, Jonny Hurst, and SQE1 award leader, Caroline Rayson, the session will look beyond the headline statistics to explore why the SQE poses such a challenge and how BPP’s success rates remain well above the national average.

After the session, there will be virtual networking with the BPP University Law School team for follow-up questions and further careers advice.
