Join us on the afternoon of Tuesday 14 April for a virtual student event with White & Case.
Debt plays a vital role in global capital markets and is one of the most dynamic and high-stakes areas of modern legal practice. It sits at the heart of how governments raise money, how companies fund their growth, and how some of the largest transactions in the world get done. But how does it actually work?
Leading the session will be Jack Adachi, associate in White & Case's London capital markets group. Jack will walk students through how debt capital markets actually work, explaining technical concepts and sharing what it is really like to advise on such high-profile transactions.
He will be joined at the start of the session by Melissa Butler, partner in the firm’s capital markets group and global co-head of the sovereigns and public sector group, who will introduce the session and share her perspective.
They will cover how debt is issued, the roles of different parties in a transaction, and the commercial forces shaping the market right now. They will also reflect on the skills future lawyers need to develop to thrive in this rapidly evolving landscape.
